Chinese office software provider WPS has introduced a generative AI tool designed specifically for international users, steampunk eroticism setting it apart from its domestic offering that relies on various Chinese home-grown models. The newly unveiled assistant is powered by AI models from both OpenAI and Google’s PaLM2. According to the company’s press release, users can now make natural language requests to this tool for tasks such as drafting documents, creating slideshows, and summarizing PDF files, all aimed at enhancing work efficiency. While Kingsoft Office, the owner of WPS, has not disclosed whether the AI tool uses OpenAI’s latest GPT-4 or its predecessor GPT-3.5, the service is currently in the public testing phase, and interested users are required to apply for access, similar to the domestic counterpart.
